Seasonal Intentions

Close the Kitchen at 8pm

Ideally you’re eating your last meal around 6pm or sundown. After that, your digestive fire is lower making it automatically harder to digest anything you put in your system.

We’ve implemented this principle in my household, and my husband and I have each noticed positive changes in our energy level the next morning.

Other side-effects of closing the kitchen at 8pm:
Better sleep: a full belly does not a happy camper make.
Earlier bedtime: You need at least 2 hours between your last meal and bedtime, and hopefully you’re going to bed no later than 10pm.
Better breath: Bad breath can be a result of poorly digested food.
No late-night kitchen cleanup
Extra time in the evening: Read, journal, meditate and generally wind-down from your day. This will also improve your sleep.
More Energy for your next day: well-digested food means you can use that fuel more effectively to power your life.

Extra time! Did you see that? I can’t tell you how many times people tell me they don’t have enough time in their day.

Timing really is everything. Be intentional about your routine.

I see all you night nurses out there. (Thank you for doing what you do. 🙏🏻) Yes, there are exceptions. Ayurveda’s answer to every question is “It depends.” However if you start paying attention to how you feel, are willing to step into the experiment and try this, you might be surprised.

Try it. Let me know how you feel.
This is important...How. Do. You. FEEL?

Remember, it’s all an experiment. The more you experiment, the more you can hone in on what routine supports you best.
