Grapefruit Energizer

This juice gets me through the slump of soggy Spring afternoons. More energizing than coffee, this will perk you up and help you focus on the tasks you have at hand.

Spring is a great time for grapefruits. The sour and bitter tastes of this fruit can help balance the heaviness that often accompanies what we lovingly call “Mud Season” here in the Northeast U.S.

The ginger adds pungency to this beverage, while a little honey smooths everything out making this a bright and enlivening drink.

1 grapefruit, peeled and quartered
1/2 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
1 heaping teaspoon honey

Blend grapefruit and ginger for 1 minute in a blender.

While blender is still on, drizzle in honey from the blender top. Continue to blend another 1-2 minutes.

Sip and enjoy!
